Detroit, je t’aime

I went to Detroit last weekend to attend a birthday party for my brother's Grandmother who turned 90 (on his Father's side).  Also, MY father was raised in Detroit as well so I felt it especially important to visit the city for the first time since I was little (and too young to remember).

I must say the city is filled with hard working and wonderful people.  This is amazing to me because in the last few years the city has been literally breaking down.  If you want to know what it might be like on the set of "The Walking Dead", just go to the neighborhood in Detroit where my Father's family is from.

Everyone thinks we should buy American cars because we should promote from within, but really; where is the money going if the city who produces these cars continues to stay in such bad shape?

Anywho, it's always nice to VISIT places that get extremely cold in the winter, and I came prepared with my furry hat, combat boots, and comfy coat (that I got from Zara).  I got lucky and was able to take a few pictures downtown just as the snow started falling.
